Thanks to my thesis I had the chance to return on my “reason why” of working in the design industry, specifically reasoning what can I do as a graphic designer dealing with the problems and solutions of our time.
My work then evolved in a redefinition of “good design” as “ethical design” and the role of nowadays designers.
The “Good Design” for today’s design: the role of the graphic designer.

Abstract
Everything begins with a question. This question then leads to another, and another one right after. Nowadays, the number of questions keeps growing, and the designer, called to solve present-day problems, is not exempt from this. Further questions are also directed towards the profession itself, its role, and whether it has the ability to shape today through good design.
Particularly, the focus of the analysis is on the graphic designer’s role and how, through the design process, it is possible to create solutions that make life better.
Particularly, the focus of the analysis is on the graphic designer’s role and how, through the design process, it is possible to create solutions that make life better.
The concept of “good design” is thus studied through its examples in architecture, design, and graphics, but especially by investigating its reinterpretation as “ethical design.” By applying Bruno Munari’s “green rice” method, every step from the problem to the solution is followed to understand the current meaning of “good” and to bring it into one’s design.
The proposed solution ultimately develops into a scheme, an examination framework that can be integrated into each creative process to generate more conscious, ethical, and therefore “good” design projects.
