Graphic representation of a literary classic. My editorial project is based on the novel by Dino Buzzati, "The desert of the tartars", from which I have chosen "waiting" as the keyword to transpose the novel.

This concept is expressed on the cover, where the letters of the word are placed between ellipses on a white background. I chose a monoline font for a better spatial layout.
Waiting is also expressed in the inner pages through die-cuts that reveal the final visual one element at a time.

The graphic proposal is to reproduce the landscape and the central elements of the story inside an hourglass, thus alluding to the main theme of waiting, but also to the illusion that everything will eventually be in vain, with even the desert slowly settling, grain by grain, at the bottom of it.
